You do Asphalt Replacement/Repairs?
Yes, we do! We’ve been in business since 1984 doing mostly sealcoat and small asphalt repairs throughout Southeast Michigan, but up until recently we have made a big step towards taking on full scale parking lot and roadway paving. No matter how small or big, we will do it the Birmingham way!
What’s the difference between Asphalt Repairs/Paving and Asphalt Maintenance?
We like to keep these 2 categories separate from each other due to the type of crew and material needed. Asphalt maintenance involves just sealcoat and crackfill; Asphalt repairs/paving refers to actual asphalt being torn out and replaced or repaired. Keep this in mind when calling in for an estimate!

Low Install Cost – Asphalt is about twice as cheap to install when compared to a concrete.

Cheap Maintenance – Maintenance includes sealing and crackfilling. This should be done every 2-3 years, depending on traffic, use, and weather.

Relatively Cheap Repairs – Compared to concrete, asphalt is the cheapest to repair. This cost is very subjective when it comes to asphalt, depending on the condition of the asphalt, it may be cheaper in the long run to replace the entire parking lot or driveway instead of small sections.

Very Impressionable – Asphalt is a much softer & permeable surface than concrete, meaning water will go through tiny micro-cracks and degrade the asphalt over time. Also, a car parking on the same spot will eventually leave indentations on the asphalt where the tires are.

Heat – Especially in the summer, asphalt absorbs a lot of heat from the sun.

Durability – Asphalt will very rarely out live concrete, but it mostly comes down to personal preference when choosing between the two materials.
